Hi,
I haven't been back in a while, I've just re-drawn my sword and I'm quite proud of it, but I believe it still needs more work.

It is much nicer than your first one, but its too heavily saturated (mainly the blue handle with the red ribbon!)

Yeah I guess it's a little "babyish"

Dawn, a thing with swords is that they have a small hilt. Currently it looks like a knife. Look at i's sword for an example.

Why not just look at the nice examples that Irukard posted, on the first page of this thread?

I have to disagree with Leo. There are still some things you have to learn before your graphics are good enough to pass the graphical standards of tmw.

The blade uses a gradient fill. This is something you should always avoid when doing pixel art because it looks cheap. Try to select and place the colors manually.

The hilt is suffering from a very bad color selection. As I already wrote you shouldn't use full saturated colors like the yellow and the red you used.

But please don't be discourage. I am sure that you can improve your pixel art skill with some practice and by listening to the advice people give you.

I see huge improvement in your work. Now is time for some new lessons.
I remade your sword in serval steps. Hope it helps you.
And remember keep icon in 32x32px square.

Also I managed to correct some old mistakes in currently used icons made by me. For example black outlines in short sword - I have done it in 2005 using MS Paint. Now we got 2008 and Gimp ;)
