Hi,

sorry, I had completely forgotten to post two graphics I had made some time ago:

I'm not sure if either of them meets the quality requirements (suggestions are welcome, of course, though I don't expect to have time to continue on them for a while), but it would be nice to have flower items in the game. Bleaching them should be trivial-- both flowers come in a variety of colours in real life, so it would be nice to have yellow roses and red tulips, too. Or black roses for those of you who are into that kind of stuff.

Nice graphics but I have no idea how we could use them. Maybe as generic vendor trash drop items?

The yellow lines inside the tulip might be a bit darker IMO.

They can also be used as some kind of quest item.

These look decent enough to me to be used as inventory icons for items that may not have any use other then trading (i.e. they are not swung around like a sword or actually sit on a table or in the ground, etc.). I think we can use a lot of inventory icon only type items (for quests or random mob drops just to spice up the monotony).

As far as the actual art, the yellow tulip could be slightly more defined on the petals (darken the overlap lines), and the leaf hanging off the left seems like it could use some more depth to it. It appears to be resting against the petals (unless that is what it IS doing).

The red rose looks very good IMO. I have no comments other than, "Well done"!

Edit:
As I was posting this, Crush already pretty much said what I said, so sorry for the repeat.

Valentines Day.
And it could also be included in some type of a quest, I could think of a couple off hand.

Graphics look nice Fate, only crits I had have been mentioned already. =)

Hi again,

here are a bleached rose, suitable for dyeing on channel W, and a revised tulip.

That looks great. The tulip fix is exactly what I had in mind. Great job!

Hahahaha!
Maybe if you make the rose smaller then maybe this is one way we could use the flowers.

I added the rose items to SVN:

These are the item descriptions from left to right:

Red: A symbol for romantic love.
White: A symbol for everlasting love.
Dark Red: A symbol for sad love.
Pink: A symbol for innocent love.
Yellow: A symbol for platonic love and friendship
Black: A symbol for unrequited love which turned into hate.
Orange: A symbol for friendship turning into love.
Blue: A symbol for impossible love.

Here the tulips. I decided to color them with a significant hue shift because this is an effect you also see frequently in real tulip breeds.

Crush, did you recolor those manually, or was that done with the recoloring script/program thingy that yall made?

Either way, they look great! And if they were made with the script, I am very impressed and can't wait to see it used on the other items that could use recoloring.

These are ingame screenshots of the graphics recolored by the game engine.

Recolorisations of cotton shirts, v-neck sweater and t-neck sweater are in the items.xml and the server database and there is an unactivated cloth dyer NPC which exchanges the uncolored for the colored ones. Activating it is unfortunately not my decision.
