[DIS] Topic tagging suggestions

Post by i »

I suggest marking new topics with those tags. IMO that kind of actions could help us clean up our graphics forums

[DEV] - development topic
[REQ] - request topic
[CA] - concept art topic
[RC] - release candidate topic
[DIS] - discussion topic

I already started marking release candidate topics. What do you think about those tags? Did I miss something?

I think it's better to try to use the same tags as is used on the content page of the wiki.:

[REQ] - request topic
[CPT] - Concept topic
[WIP] - Work In Progress (same as development topic?) topic
[RC] - Release Candidate topic
[DIS] - Discussion Topic

Indeed. I Agree. Any other notices?

[FND] - Finished (ready for RC)
[SVN] - In subversion (to be applied to an RC)

There's one more I was thinking about, but cannot remember right now.

Finally, here is a deal:

[REQ] - Request topic
[CPT] - Concept topic
[WIP] - Work In Progress topic
[WIP] > [FND] - Finished project - ready for [RC] phase
[RC] - Release Candidate topic
[RC] > [SVN] - RC content already on SVN
[DIS] - Discussion Topic

Yes, I approve of this workflow.

Now, who should be responsible for deciding which gets into the next phase?

I propose a tribunal of sorts with at least three members. I also propose me and Len onboard.

The tribunal would have weekly meetings when decisions would be made (proposing Sunday).

Any arguments against such a workflow?
This message used to be meaningful.

I would suggest to leave this in the hands of the content development task force.

The server administrators can still function as an additional filter to block stuff which is unacceptable for some reason before it goes online.
  • former Manasource Programmer
  • former TMW Pixel artist
  • NOT a game master

Please do not send me any inquiries regarding player accounts on TMW.

You might have heard a certain rumor about me. This rumor is completely false. You might also have heard the other rumor about me. This rumor is 100% accurate.

When an item reaches [RC], a task for it needs to be created on Mantis so we can keep track of it.

EDIT: Nevermind. Items will be added to Mantis when they are deemed ready.
