[REQ] Test maps with the new forest tileset

Mappers and other interested people ahoy!

We've had the forest work by Len unused for a long long time now. Anyone up to seeing how it'll work?

As the topic states, we're after exploratory maps here: what you can and cannot do with the tileset. Especially to find out what it would still need or is it ready to deploy.

All the graphics are already in client data. No need to hunt through that thread.

As seen in the attached image, I started to make an island type map, and ran into several problems:

1. The forest tileset is dependent on the woodland tileset/swamp tileset if you want water
2. There is no easy way to transition from above a cliff to ground level (the one method I found is shown, but it's only one side)
3. Multi-height cliffs are not possible
4. There are many, many repeated tiles for the dirt border on the cliffs
5. There is no proper cliff->water tile (there's green at the bottom of the cliffs)
6. Need tiles that look like woodland_swamp, but match water from rest of world

That's a finished map using this tileset, and Aroleon has made one which connects this map to the rest of the world. . .

That's an example usage of the cliff tiles, and while it's unfinished I played around with them plenty and they seem to be very usable...

So no worries Rotonen, these beautiful tiles of Len's/Saphy's/Whoeverelse's are not being neglected. ;)

Not about a neglected tileset, but rather about "things to make mappers happy" category of things.

Already we got a lot in this thread. Thank you, sj16936724.

1. The forest tileset is dependent on the woodland tileset/swamp tileset if you want water
the swamp is the water for the forest
2. There is no easy way to transition from above a cliff to ground level (the one method I found is shown, but it's only one side)
3. Multi-height cliffs are not possible
The tileset I was inspired by had the same problem (but you can still have multiple levels)
4. There are many, many repeated tiles for the dirt border on the cliffs
(???)
5. There is no proper cliff->water tile (there's green at the bottom of the cliffs)
Just remove the green and make a transition
6. Need tiles that look like woodland_swamp, but match water from rest of world

I don't have time to help out and any problems you have you'll need to fix yourself
