Keep quiet...

Hi all,

I just wonder if a /quiet command existed in eAthena (and in TMWserv it may be done).

More precisely, a GM command that makes a player (or every player from an account) unable to chat for some times.

I just thought it could be a nicer option for casual in-game trolls...

After all, words are silver, silence is golden.

Regards,

There seems to be an @command. Or atleast code supporting it or a special admin packet.

Hi,

IMHO, I'd like to see this feature added and GM be aware of it, if no one disagrees.

sounds good, making a char unable to chat (mute a char) would b a nice gm command... now all of those beggers and spammers will finally be silent

Step 1) Spam hurnscald, get devoiced.
Step 2) Bot, use the excuse "But I was devoiced!!"

Hi,

And a command that make them able to speak again... or so I think.

Sounds good:

If I summarize the gathered ideas:

- Add two commands (or one handling the two) to mute unmute chat for an account.

- Add a visible effect for muted characters.

This way, GM will be able to recognize muted botting players...

What do you all think?

Regards,

Or just make it so that it is a set duration, ie 5 minutes or something. This will also keep people from being 'forgotten' about and permanently muted. (Although, that might not be a bad thing in some cases..)

We'd still want an unmute command.

Hi,

To Ceros:
Just to precise, the mute command should be allowed without a time value, setting it to a reasonable default time

To Jaxad:
Yes, we need an unmute command as well.

Yes, this is what I had in mind. As long as the default would be some amount of time that expired.

Hi Jumpy,

I understand very well your point of view.

My thought was to make GMs able to mute some people for some time when they're getting annoying, instead of banning them at first (which is in my opinion much more frustrating.).

This toolkit was intended to be made for GM only to get the ambiance better with a less frustrating punishment than the ban, but I would definitely understand if they (the GM) or the whole community didn't want it to exist.

What do GM think about it, btw?
