Just got back from vacation (Magfest)! I have a few days of break left, so I'll be writing some more sketches for here. I think I'll make academysketch1 my academydungeonsketch, and the academysketch2 be a possible track for an area of the academy, but it definitely shouldn't be the main area. I'll work on a main area of the academy track next, as well as maybe one of the other before mentioned necessary tracks.

Anyone else around? Meway?

I don't know what the general consensis is on those Mana World songs, but it would be nice to try to make CR1 have all new songs, giving the island its own distinct music.

We have a lot of unused music, actually. And underused music.

I'm active but I assigned myself player sprite sheet until fother is back. You probably will and may see my progress as I go threw it.

I am afaik only going to make 3 of the listed in the sprite sheet and fother had already started on one.

I'm definitely behind giving each area its own distinct musical feel. This will support how things are different in the areas in general, from how people dress to how the tilesets look like.

I'm not such a big fan of it, but here is another sketch:

I actually was wondering if maybe a more synth-ish sound for some areas would be ok.

As you've stated before, it is rather hard to say whether this fits or does not fit to a location which does not really exist yet. :)

As for styles, anything goes as long as it fits. You're in charge of the entire soundscape for CR1 so you pretty much have free hands with this one.

Well, though I'm not a fan of that previous sketch, I do think it would fit. (and it being more ambient, it wouldn't be too obtrusive). I will work on a synth song I think would fit, we'll see how it goes.

I'm not sure whether or not these tracks will fit in their respective places in the end, but here is what I've come up with:

I think the dungeon sketches show the most promise. The village sketches would work for a generic village, but I'm not sure quite how the one in CR1 will turn out. They aren't particularly port music though.

My Tracks for CR1
Listen: http://www.last.fm/music/jigwolf/The+Mana+World+1
Oggs: http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopi ... =21&t=6984

We will get more completed tracks before assigning them to the areas proposed for CR1.

Check the updated wiki page for more: http://wiki.themanaworld.org/index.php/Music

Perhaps the GFX team may like to use it for a little inspiration?

So there hasn't been all that much talk about music for a while. Partially due to the fact that I think we are a bit farther ahead in music than in mapping/graphics. But what about sound effects? I am not great with those, I can do a few.

Hi Saturn,

Is there a place where one can find and listen to all the music sfx projects for CR1?

I was just wondering who was gathering all this and where? Maybe you are?

Best regards.

Saturn,

I feel happy that the music is very ahead in CR1, I remember the day we had to recycle the only pieces we had and even to remove some of them because where not original, for that congratulations.

I think is a very good idea start audio effects and sounds, can determine the action in the gameplay, so please if nothing else has to be done in CR1 music I would like to have some new sound effects, like a fountain, birds in the forest, or may be unknown creatures, the shore, etc.

Regards

Whatever foley sounds you can imagine melee battle and hitting stuff (monsters, air, etc.) to induce. Those are safe to work on for now.

Bertram:
We are planning on using the following songs:

Academy
http://www.last.fm/music/jigwolf/The+Ma ... he+Academy

Academy Misc
http://alokinnollahwe.com/saturn/gamemu ... ketch1.mp3

Academy Dungeon
http://alokinnollahwe.com/saturn/gamemu ... ketch1.mp3

Temple
http://alokinnollahwe.com/saturn/gamemu ... ketch2.ogg

Some Beach
http://www.last.fm/music/jigwolf/The+Ma ... aken+Beach

Misc
http://www.last.fm/music/jigwolf/The+Ma ... +of+Angels
http://alokinnollahwe.com/saturn/gamemu ... ketch1.ogg
http://alokinnollahwe.com/saturn/gamemu ... ketch2.mp3
http://alokinnollahwe.com/saturn/gamemu ... ketch1.mp3

There are still more tracks to be made, such as a track for the port, and a track for the forest, but these are already a great start. My songs there are also technically unfinished, as in I'd like to work on them to make them better production-wise. The others (made by krazyjakee) seem more finished to me.

I will try a few sound effects, though I am no master at them.
