Opens cape in a bat-like fashion, reveals that it has no body and shoots purple lightning from where its body is supposed to be.

Gets its cape redrawn, well, its head mysteriously stops being a copy+paste of the skull and it dies, its bodily fragments sinking down, down to the very last entry in the Graphics Development board, entirely forgotten until the (then) promising monster is revived by the renowned forum archaeologist known only as 'Matt'. The world rejoices, a few more frames are done and again the wonder is lost.

With TMWserv, it's possible to have 2 attack animations, isn't it? Both would be good. It could also have a 'Jaws of Death' sequence, where it leans forward and opens its rotting mouth to snap off appendages off of its would-be conquerer.

It's a good start, but as I hinted I think the cape needs a major redo. If you keep at it I can see it being a good addition to the TMW monster team, so please do so.

OK, my really shitty, done at work, MS Paint version (Duck scythe is REALLY bad). You also might consider a cross body stance. Alternatively, you could have him hold it one handed and lift his free hand to attack you, emitting a black blast of particles.

To me the armless body looks like a pod thing (although very well drawn).

Yep, but you might want to make each layer have a white background or you can see the previous frame (or maybe its something else) anyways one of the frames appear to have a double image.

also a little less time between frames
