As I like Lizandras idea of a wedding quest very much, I'm doing now a little bit to push this forward. Up to now there was only a bit of discussion but nothing really was done (the discussion thread http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6215).

I will just summarise the stuff that was suggested and the things which are done up to now.

Here is what Lizandra suggested.

Since we have a wedding officiator at TMW, we could do some kind of quest =) it would be funny =)

My idea is the following:

to Brides:
Wedding dress:
Lora Tay would do it with this items:
-20 cotton clothes
-300 silk cocoons
-30.000 GP
- it could be dyed
-7% defense
Veil: - Lora Tay again
-black crystal
-200 silk coccons
-hairband
-5%defense

Bouquet (it may be used as a weapon =p)
-1 flower each type (buying flowers at the flower seller)
-15 petals
-2 roots
-15 herbs each type
-+20%attack
(i didn't think about who can make the bouquet)

Grooms:
jacket - Desert Indian Guy
-10 snake skins
-2 snake tongues (tie)
-20.000GP
-5%defense
shirt - Lora Tay
-300silk coccons
-3cotton cloth
-1000GP
shorts
-normal shorts
(all the items could be dyed)

Wedding cake:
Cake seller
Champagne
Any seller

I think the bouquet could be done by the flowerseller.
As far as I know one can not put a shirt and a jacket on so I think one should put those two things together.
And there should be some shoes.

For the wedding dress there was the idea to take the valentine dress (Platyna is wearing it as far as I know).

Frictor made it and i do know it is GPL

The next thing which was done up to now was something from my wife and me. It's the jacket and shirt thing for the future husband. Up to now it is only a vest with shirt and also only the first 3 frames but we want to know if this is ok before going on.


Last but not least I started to script a little bit for the quest but it's nothing I'd like to show up to now. But there will be some updates in the future.

Now it would be nice if we could get some help from others as we are new to all this stuff. But we both (my wife and me) like the idea of this one very much and we think it would be a pitty if it would not become some kind of a release candidate for the game.

i like it dose it come with a pair of pants to match?

To put this one a bit forward, I changed the valentine dress from red to white so that it fits more for a wedding

No need to recolor by hand, as the image is recolorable.

This is looking great...I know that was my idea, but what can i actually do to help?

Design some pant's for the top. (:

At the moment I try to make a veil, but the buquet is missing (I have no idea how to do it). And the pants for the future husband would be nice, too. So if someone likes to do this stuff, woudl be nice.

Just make the spritesheet for the wrong gender say "HOMO" in big fat letters.

Or make it turn into a shirt on the male, and a big wedding dress on the female characters.

Anything useable/wearable/equipable/etc, can be made useable/wearable/equipable/etc by one gender only.

There were some items in the past which were first supposed to be one gender only, like the skirt for example, but people screamed "SEXISM!!!111oneoneone" before they even were released and so we made them unisex.
