Linux + Touchpad bug

Post by vhailor »

I'm running the game under gentoo linux, and I found a pretty annoying bug... I'm using a synaptics touchpad and there's a horizontal scroll "wheel" at the bottom... a part of the touchpad when you rub it it scrolls horizontally... And when I touch that while I'm in the game it closes the window. In a terminal the message it tells me is only "aborted".

GDB tells me
Program received signal SIGABRT, Aborted.

Don't touch the wheel

Now seriuosly, as it is a input device, it sure has a section with its configuration in xorg.conf, at least for a mouse you have to explicitily configure the non-standard buttons, I don't know for a touchpad but it is a start.
Try to disable it, or just change the configuration of it.

Have you experienced problems with any other program? does it work?

I'm getting the same thing on a desktop. Mouse wheel is set up and works on other things.

Do you have the synaptics driver emerged?? I know it's a silly question, but I never experienced any problems with the one on my laptop... Don't have it handy to check at this point.
