Nicholas is asking for iron ingots and coal, not the iron ore mentioned in all walkthroughs. I found the place to turn ore into ingots, and I know the ore can be found in the Humscald mine up north. Can anyone tell me where I can find coal?

In caves west of the mines there you find Mogguns.

Thanks for chiming in. I'm in the caves right now trying to figure a way out. Do I have to kill Mogguns to get the coal?

Or be violent with them and kill around 15mogguns, you will got a coal.. ^^

Tried talking to them (feel like a fool) but no response.

Not strong enough to kill them.

Is that the only place I can get coal?

You could try and kill Terranites
Nah sorry there are no easier monsters that drop coal afaik.

In the same cave system as moggus but deeper down.

Thanks for the response. I went way deep and still don't see any Terranites. However I managed to level up a bit and am now able to kill more Mogguns before they ganged up on me and finished me off. Getting the required amount of coal is very hard work.
