Edited the thread subject to say something about the content.

Next time you start a new topic please try to be a bit more descriptive in the title. This will also help you to get a competent answer quickly.

An idea is to run "mapserver" alone and check for a possible syntax error.

Run all three servers manually, don't use the monitor until you've verified that the servers run without error.

When you start every server executable separately from a command prompt you can read the error messages after the servers quit.

Nobody help him. 1) he does not listen. 2) he needs to realize there is no easy way. 3) I held his hand to get this far and promised him if he did not follow my instruction that nobody else would.

I have helped countless amount of people set up there own server even a 12 year old who had no clue what he was doing.

Step 1 linux) http://wiki.themanaworld.org/index.php/ ... a_on_Linux
Step 1 windows) http://wiki.themanaworld.org/index.php/ ... on_Windows
step 2 rtfm) http://meway.dyndns.org/FAQ/FAQ.html (site currently down)
step 3 search) http://www.google.com [a little reading wont hurt you and answer most of your questions]

i think in the map-server will say something like
can not find save/... .txt

i think it will be the athena.txt

While setting up the actual eA server is quite easy and documented clearly and by multiple people, configuring the web services needed are not.
( I swear I had an easier time running telegaurd BBS software then configuring a web server such as Apache.)
I know there's people out there that know how to do this but no one has ever written a guide to it.
btw meway you site is down and I can't read your FAQ's and the info I'm looking for might even be in there for all I know. XD

I'd like to see a 12 year old who has no clue setup the necessary web services needed and the Apache documentation is confusing.

I agree with the goal, but in this case I suggest the instructions require that the person learn at least a bit about what they're getting into.

Web servers on the Internet are continually probed for security holes, whether due to buggy software or improper configuration. It's easy -- I would say likely -- to set up an unsecured web server if you blindly follow a simple set of instructions. Even if the original instructions are secure, a minor change or addition can open holes. It's just not intuitive.

That said, I usually find the stock httpd.conf is a good place to start. More advanced features (like Virtual Hosts) can be added as needed.
