Question on Simple Ring

Does the Simple Ring enhance any stats (Strength/Agility/Vitality etc.)? And if it was decorated with gemstones does the power increase too?

Thanks for your responses. This is a lot of resources for no increase in stats. Maybe I'll wait and see.
