This isn't by any means a huge error, but something was just brought up. Axalix had white hair on his character, and after the update that added pink hair, when he signed in his character, he had pink hair. His other character also had white hair, and signed in with pink. We tested using shock candies to see, and they still turn your hair white. I assume this is a manner of the pink hair replacing the slot that white hair was in, turning those who had white hair's hair pink if they had it during the update. If not, well, it's for better minds to look into.

Extra info: Axalix runs an old client, and sees his now white hair as black, but this is an old client issue. I haven't seen anyone else sign in with pink hair by accident yet, but it seems possible anyways.

If you had created a character with a hair color that was not in hair.xml, it would be overwritten with the newly-added color.

As we have reached the limit of hair colors that can be used when creating a character (12), this will not happen again, further hair colors can only be granted via scripts.

White cannot now be selected when creating a character (and was not previously supported), only by using shock sweets.

I experienced the problem wit a grey hair char. Manaplus extended client 1.1.8.21. if it can help.

Um, when I look at those pages, I see 1.0+git20110505-2

I imagine manaplus is giving officially unsupported behavior again, but I haven't actually checked. (if only manaplus was based on the same git repository ...)

I'd like to point out also, that I wasn't reporting an issue with an unsupported client. The only thing I for sure linked to having the outdated client was that those who changed their hair afterwards from pink kept seeing their hair as black. Numerous other players signed in to suddenly pink hair, and while some of those had the outdated client, I can't say that's the case for all. I just reported the main issue of peoples' hair changing colors out of the blue, and added the details of what I saw.
