understanding critical hits

Hi,

I would like to understand how critical hits work.

I notice that, when fighting one kind of monster, they always do the same amount of hit (51 pv) when they do critical to me. I changed my armor for a best one, and they still do the same amount (51 pv), and always exactly the same pv.

Can anyone explain me how it works ? Is augmenting chance the only way to avoid critical hits ? Aren't defense a mean to reduce this ? (I thought it will, but made tests shew not).

Critical hits bypass defence. This is intentional. You can reduce the number of critical hits you suffer by raising your luck stat.
