Updating problem

Post by Deimheucadh »

I cannot download updates from the server (server.themanaworld.org = tmw.tmwdata.org = 198.72.6.20)
i get 2/2 updates and it ends.
however, i can login and play, but it is too difficult to play while not seeing anything.
the same client for servers server.themanaworld.net, evolonline.org, landoffire.org updates normally.
i think there is a problem with update server.

manaplus-1.3.7.7, manaplus-1.4.4.26, mana-0.6.1

There is an issue with the update server to russian users, can't remember exactly why but t3st3r said something about it.
Maybe the proxy of veryape will help though idk.

Deimheucadh most likely it has a bunch to do with Russia and the US.
The server is currently hosted In the US.
I'm sure you are well aware of the squabbling that's been going on.
I'm sorry to say but the connectivity will only get worse from Russia to the US and EU.
Most likely in the coming weeks Russia & Us connectivity will only get worse.
If Ukraine isn't resolved in 3 months you'll most likely be cut from the Internet all together.
Best to find a Chinese proxy to go through.

Please will someone in Russia start a Russian server, We need to sneak behind the Iron Curtain before it closes again...

server with updates located on CDN, what banned in Russia by rosskomnadzor, because they not removing forbidden information.
Banned one of two ips from CDN. And this mean some times in can work.

For work around this issue need use manaplus with one of recent versions.
In login dialog select "custom update server", and type http://updates.themanaworld.org/updates/
After client will download updates and can work again.

4144 is spot on. One of the CDN IP addresses is blacklisted in Russia. Unfortunately there isn't much I can do about this other than disable the CDN. The CDN company is aware of the issue and has tried to resolve it but has not had much cooperation from the Russian authorities. Until it is fixed (if ever) please use the suggested workaround. I really wish people would stop breaking the internet :(

fuf. thanx 4144, it is solved.
i have written "198.72.6.20/updates" as the update host, and it works.
it is blocked on the russian side of dns, i think, but ip is ok.
