Incomplete update process

Post by Noobster »

After I log into the main server I get this:

The update process is incomplete.
It is strongly recommended you try again later

The requested URL returned error: 403

three times and then an item db error when I click play. Did I do something wrong or did it not install correctly ?

Sounds like you have an old client, try upgrading to the latest http://manaplus.org

Hi, I was/am getting this same Incomplete update process error w/ mana and the mana world - I'm having trouble successfully installing/running manaplus.

I'm running debian & tried the manaplus install instructions with no luck: After I did the sudo apt get update "manaplus" still can't be found:

Code: Select all

E: Unable to locate package manaplus
Also in synaptic there is no manaplus, only mana & tmw.

After DLing the manaplus-addrepo_1.3_all.deb file I also tried installing the package with Gdebi, which it successfully(?) installed (gdebi says it's installed) however 'manaplus' does not exist when I try to run or find it. What's going on here?

http://manaplus.org/repository that has always worked for me. Are you sure you followed all the steps?

Make sure you didn't forget to add the repo to your list of repositorys

do this:

su -
nano /etc/apt/sources.list

copy "deb http://repo.evolonline.org/manaplus wheezy main" in there if you are running debian stable, save, do "apt-get update&& apt-get upgrade&& apt-get install manaplus"

if that doesn't work, please go to our irc channel and ask for help there

You can find us at: https://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=#themanaworld

I hope this will help you.

Simpler way is follow instructions from here: http://manaplus.org/ubuntu/

Thanks veryape! I was doing the instructions from the ubuntu rep wiki page instead. The regular repo wiki install instruction page worked perfectly :D.

I successfully installed manaplus, created a player named gillagan and started playing, quickly got killed by a house maggot, but continuing on :P.

My question now is do I still need the packages of tmw and mana installed in order to play (manaplus) or are they outdated/unnecessary?

Anyway I'm just happy I got everything up and working, see you in the mana world! :alt-3:

In old ubuntu and debian (look like for now in all released debian and ubuntu) present tmw and mana packages. They both outdated and can be removed.
In future version of ubuntu and debian will be no tmw or mana packages anymore.
