strange frames in login text => error in login

OS : win xp sp2
client : manaplus 1.4.12.6

Problem :
I can start program and choose server, enter my password - no problem
But during updating strange frames appear in text update process is incomplete...

If i choose play anyway, theres no picture of chars - error stated in frame...

If I choose a player and "enter" game everything is quckly becoming a collage of colors as characters and mouse draws patterns on the game-screen

I have tried to :
- run directx and check java.
- when entered game - pressed F to see if i could obtain normal view.
- pressed F9/performance and check that : enable texture compression (open GL) = NO

Any suggestions ?

ok after chatting with 4144 - problem got solved this way :

1. checking theese two links from my web-browser :
http://themanaworld.org/updates/news.txt
http://www.manaplus.org/serverlist.xml

Now it turned out that the serverlist was blocked by parental-control

2. allowing the above link to servers solved the problem - simple when you know how

3. later I had the problem again - and it appeares that bullguard considers TMW to be in the category : violence !
