Playing a new character and for some reason, I have to click on the NPC's multiple times for them to eventually respond. It takes forever to enter the next room and when trying to kill the maggots on the first quest, my character kills a few and then doesn't attack them at all, causing me to get stuck
My laptop is quite new only a few months old, and internet is strong here. So I don't know what's causing it. Please, help me! D:
Would love to play this!
Edit:also, it works perfectly in the Land of fire server. why?

Re: Stuck in beginning tutorial
I have to click on the NPC's multiple times for them to eventually respond.
I have never witnessed this problem before but if for you clicking on a npc doesn't work try to walk next to it and press T on your keyboard. You can also target a npc by pressing N and then you talk to it with T. You can also right-click and select Talk.
It takes forever to enter the next room.
This might be network problems. Even with a "strong" internet (fast speed) like you say it can still drop packets if the line is of bad quality. Please run a test on http://www.pingtest.net and http://www.speedtest.net and tell us the result.
Also, open the Debug window (F10) in manaplus and go the Net tab and tell us the ping (ms).
When trying to kill the maggots on the first quest, my character kills a few and then doesn't attack them at all.
Again, network problems is the most plausible culprit but the server also has a bug with the "walk path" which makes mobs sometimes appear to be in a place that they are not or to suddenly jump from 1 tile to another (desync).

Re: Stuck in beginning tutorial
on ping test.net:
line quality: B*
ping: 48ms
jitter:2ms
unable to test packet loss
on speedtest.net
ping:7ms
download speed:51.89 Mbps
upload speed:9.48 Mbps
on manaplus,debug,net
ping: 200ms
in: 30 bytes/s
out: 12 bytes/s
when i'm attacking maggot:
ping:4120ms
in:0 bytes/s
out:26 bytes/s
after giving up attacking the same maggot:
ping:4120 ms ( 7549 and increasing rapidly)
in:0 bytes/s
out:0 bytes/s

Re: Stuck in beginning tutorial
Definitely network problems. Looks like you are dropping packets like crazy.
A ping of 300ms is already painful to play because it's so laggy. Consider anything 500ms and up to be unplayable.
