None of the characters that did the xmas quest last year can start it again this year (Amarynthus, Ambrosius, Amphiaraus, and Little Shop Of Horrors). I don't get the option to help Elias, and he does not give a list of kids names to get lists from. All the NPCs seem to give the same dialogs they gave at the end of the quest last year.

New characters that did not do the quest last year can offer to help Elias and do get the list of kids.

Tezer suggests it sounds like a problem with my character's quest state(s) and believes resetting that quest state may fix it. Is this a known problem, or is there a Dev/GM that could resent the xmas quest state for the 4 above-listed characters?

GM's have no access to coding, we enforce game rules.

The script did not change, so if there's a bug it was always there, and I won't review hundreds of lines of (very messy) code; I need more details

Didnt this thing have a variable that needs to be renewed each year for the annual (xmasyear or so)? It was manually set in a debug npc in that "enter if you can" house in hurnscald iirc.

nope, that's automatic, and it's already on 2017 so there's nothing that needs changing

What details can I provide?

I haven't started the quest with any of my characters yet. When my character Kobalt who did not do the quest last year talks to Elias I am told to collect the list from the children as expected. But when any of my characters who did this quest last year (Amarynthus, Ambrosius, Amphiaraus) talk to Elias they get the same dialog they would get after doing the whole thing:

"Hello! Welcome to the Christmas Inn. We work all
year around to make the magic of the holidays
happen."

"And what brings you here?"
> "Christmas."
"All year round we work hard to make toys and repair
our help for each years event."
"Ask Chief Warrick on the next floor, He is the shop
foreman, people are always looking to him to find
extra help."

"Goodbye"

And Warrick just has this to say:

"It seems we're catching up with the tasks to do,
thanks to your help."
"My workers are so stressed."
"I think all the children will be happy this year."

Avalia says she is preparing the rewards, but there is no chance to actually do the quest for this year (I can't collect lists from the kids, can't make a mana battery, etc) because all the NPC dialogs are as if I've already done it.

Gumi helped sort this out in game - I'm all set now.
