How do I signup for the IRC live chat?[Solved]

It keeps telling me I cannot post to the nick/channel.
I tried registering but that wouldn't let me connect to the manaworld chat.

You don't need to sign up, you only fill an username which must be available at the specific time (eg. the default nickname, "KiwiUser|44", or even "HaloNott|01"), and press "START".
You'll then be brought to the IRC channel (assuming that DLProbe don't think you are a spammer, which happens... very often.)

Just type /msg NickServ REGISTER password
youremail@example.com (switch the details to yours) in the message box of the freenode chat window. Then follow details from there. Enjoy!

Yes, that works to register. To login you use
/msg nickserv identify <password>

You do need to register to be able to send messages....
