In Hurnscald there should normally no Monsters that come and kill idle/afk players. Player "Hello=) " said he got killed by a grass snake witch cannot seen around there normally. The towns should be save places where something like this should not happen I think.

I'll be deploying a patch tonight (whenever "tonight" happens to be) which will prevent summons from happening in towns.

It has already been merged, I'm just being lazy in restarting the server :)

Yes, I discussed with online GMs beforehand.

Spawn parties used to be fun in town, do we really want to prevent them?

@spawn is fine, and @summon still work

Only summon magic is disabled.

The GM Team agreed, preventing abuse is more important than hypothetical spawn parties, unfortunately :(

The magic still work in GM Island, so they'll need to decide between using GM Island or Town depending in if they think summon magic is a valid move or not.

There is some long-standing bug, and some particularly active dark mage decided to abuse it. Jes told it hard to fix - and it seems it really is. So, well, seems a bit less fun for me in the city.

By the way, the exploit is not present in rEvolt c:
