Try updating your client, download the new version.

I've built a custom update now to make 0.0.21.1 still work, since a lot of people can't easily upgrade to 0.0.22 yet. If it's still crashing somewhere, please report any problems.

When you are still using 0.0.21 you should change the updatehost in the config.xml to http://updates.themanaworld.org

But it is generally better to get the most recent version. You should download the 0.0.22 sourcecode, all the dependencies and build it yourself.

(or throw your linux pride over board and run the windows version in wine until there is a package for your distribution ;))

hey that is my suggestion!

btw, even if you upgrade to a newer tmw version the ~/tmw/config.xml file afaik won't be replaced.

We run surprisingly well under Wine.

the config.xml file is empty and i cant compile the newest version because it seems theres an unmet dependency i cant seem to find despite the fact i found the dependency but it is named differently than what the package i need is requesting. in other words im not compiling 20 progs to get the newest version working when its a missing file that someone should post a link to or something.

change the update host, delete your updates folder and you will get the file.
