Pond Quest not registering

A problem I discovered with the Pond Purification quest.
I purified it the first time, and I was instructed that it wasn't enough, and that I had to purify again. I got the pre-reqisites again, received the potion, and pour the potion into the pond.
Returning to the witch, it was as if I never had the potion in the first place....no registering that I had actually poured the potion at all, and I started receiving the dialog as if I was asking for the quest for the first time.
Client 29 on Ubuntu 8.04 - compiled.
