Cannot connect to home server.

I just installed an eathena server following the instructions on the wiki, and it seems to run, at least it says it is starting, but I cannot connect to it from a client running on the same computer. I have tried the ip address for the computer on the network and 127.0.0.1 (in the config files.) and either way I get a cannot connect to remote host error. I have tried to search for ways to troubleshoot, but I haven't found anything.

Thanks for any help. I am just wanting to connect to this from my home network.

Are you using an eAthena client? Client versions 0.0.29 through latest git can build one of two different clients. 0.0.29(.1) default to building eAthena. The mana git defaults to manaserv. Make sure you have the right build (it'll say eAthena in the upper left corner). If your version is less than 0.0.29 then you don't have to worry about this.

I have the 0.29.1 client installed, downloaded the source from the download section of themanaworld.org.
