I am going to D-load this when I get home. Iru's work is great, and I think this will help me allot.

To really make use of it you will need a raster-based graphic program which supports multiple layers so that you can import the vector graphic as a background layer and draw the pixel art on top.

Like Gimp, for example.

I use Inkscape (and sometimes xournal) for prototyping and GIMP for drawing. GIMP is one of the few open source programs with pressure sensitive support which helps me a lot.

To clarify this, he has some sort of a graphical drawing tablet: he is not using a mouse. Wacom has some popular products in this category.

To clarify I actually have two wacom tablets. One is Wacom Intuos 3, second is Wacom digitalizer on my Lenovo X61. And sometimes I still use mouse or trackpoint. Mouse is very useful in pixelart.

The walls are supposed to be round, aren't they? Then why are they so clearly separated into three distinct shading zones?

I'm sorry to work on your project without permission D:
But I just got some idea in my mind how I'd make the tower, so I did..
I'd like to read some comments about it :)
And I'll be adding some details, really lazy at this moment :D

I love it ;) You can work with me any time. TMW like variants to work with anyway. Two towers are better than one IMO. and yours looks Great. Maybe some texture on that bottom portion? Also this will just be a corner of a wall that will be going around the castle. (my envision of it anyway)
