Indeed. My wooden reference doll is on the way. I assume that on this Monday I will have some reference photos.

I like the potential allowed level of detail coming up out of blown up proportions. Blowing up the proportions of the legs to outright unnatural circumvents a lot for what is lost due to perspective.

agree, also remember :

1. avoid perfect humanoid shapes (human body has very balanced proportions)
2. manga style exaggerate body proportions, head, feet, fist or hands, etc.
3. is a fantasy mana game (this is the best one)

It's not a very natural pose, with the legs that wide apart. Keep up the good work.

Hi,

Feline has got a point. But I thought it was a sample pose, and not the actual idle one.

Am I wrong?

Apart from the pose, I find the overall shape quite good. :)

Maybe I push a bit too much, but can you try a down idle pose with transparency, so I'll be able to include it in the dev server?

Best regards.

Yes, for the dev server any sort of a even horribly broken, incomplete and/or mangled up playerset can go in at any point. That kind of happy experimentation and instant preview of your work and results is the very point of the server in fact.

@Feline Monstrosity: yep is just a pose, basically resultant of the bubbles of the original scratch, check the xcf file so you can see the sequence, but no a problem I'll try a more idle pose.

@Bertram: yes and yes, the pose was just a manga pose I imagine but I'll change it, also because it was more like a test image I didn't create a alpha channel in the .png but I do provide the xcf with the layers just in case are in need, in other words once I have the new pose we can generate the alpha any time, I'll work in the pose first and any new post will include the alpha.

@Rotonen: Basically the new shape is incomplete and still very rough I would like to have something very nice to the eye for most of us in the proper pose before put it in the dev server

just a perspective reference.
Working with a 3D figurine will help to fix this problem.

@Ivan: yes you are totally right.

The issue here is having a 3 pixels foot using a regular perspective view or increase the proportion in a manga style to have over sized parts but breaking the perspective, is kind of a paradigm, perspective or proportions we need to find a balance, that's for sure, thanks for the comparison it gives me a nice idea how off the is the pose yet.

yes, that's very true :D

I didn't want to overlap hands and body so we can have a clear image, but don't worry i'll make a layer for better hands
