So, someone to aknowledge this and take it in-game? Some notice here in this thread would be good and sane practice.

Well, I guess it looks like most people think the shading is fine the way it is. So:

Very soon I will commence working on a world expansion to the North-East, and I will introduce this robe with that, unless someone is working on something that requires an item specifically like this (I can think up a story for any item, but it's harder to think up an item to a story you already have).

Just something, I used this robe for my own project, remember that : got 2 color dyable, you can do a good effect with it, dont do the same sh*t than with the silk robe... (yellow line in every robe)

The resultat is really awesome ^^

I post here a template for the item definition in the items.xml file:

Code: Select all

    <item id="id"
        image="armor-sorcerer-chest-robe.png|W:#White_channel_color;R:#Red_channel_color"
        name="A Sorcerer Silk Robe"
        description="The robe for great sorcerers."
        effect="+5% Defense"
        type="equip-torso"
        weight="10"
        defense="5"
        max-per-slot="1">
        <sprite gender="male">equipment/chest/chest-sorcerer-robe-male.xml|#White_channel_color;#Red_channel_color</sprite>
        <sprite gender="female">equipment/chest/chest-sorcerer-robe-female.xml|#White_channel_color;#Red_channel_color</sprite>
    </item>
And here you can find the xmls for the robes, male and female version.
chest-sorcerer-robe-female.xml
Sorcerer robe female xml
(2.49 KiB) Downloaded 91 times
chest-sorcerer-robe-male.xml
Sorcerer robe male xml

I hope this might help to decrease the work, i also have the icon for it but right now i am sure if you want it or you want to create a brand new one, anyway if you are interested i could post it too.

I also have a little quest related to it:

The idea is to cut the original robe using a pair of scissors that can be achieved from another npc which will make a little test to the player, it's a very simple math test (due to a limitation of the input of numerical values in the client, we can't have negative numbers....), after that test the player must go to a taylor (i thought about Lora Tay, since she's the one that gives the original robe) which will require the scissors, a mana potion (in the end it's a magic robe that increase the magic stats) and some gp around 40.000-50.000 should be fine, at least that's what i think.
To finish, The process to dye the robe will require more than one dye item.

I actually did brainstorm up a quest. I'll PM the info to those who either expressed interest or who might find it useful.

And a big ty to varuna for his great work :)

I propose you make a habit of posting this "Pushed as: <gitorious url>" in all content threads. Gives nice notice of how things work. Currently most threads are just hanging in the air indefinitely and that can look both confusing and bad to people.

When I push something I do... its others who do not.

You as in collective you: make it a guideline and a used practice to do so.

You as in personal you: push the first one to happen within the collective.
