Crush, yeah I agree...not finished with the furnace yet...I got a little excited about figuring out the animation in gimp.
once I understood that gimp treats each layer as a frame...simple...I did lots of animation with psp animation shop in windows.
so I'll add some aging to it...

Also you were totally correct with your child proof of concept, I spent many hours trying to get the face smaller, even just two pixels between the eyes, I may be successful in time, I'm not finished trying.
so I went with your child face here, where I needed a smaller face.

I'd like some feedback on this little guy

a small addition...still 4 frames with gauge
The needle on the guage can be made into a separate animation using particle effects. afaik everything on this can be a separate animation and sprite sheet.You could even show some movement in the oxidation if you wanted.

@salmondine--i like both ...i would maybe put a bigger hat on the one with cape to make it differ more form the other (maybe a big feather in the hat lol )....thats imo

Posting the dark background as I am hoping for a darkened candle lit interior.
