[FND] Huagal

I made a new spritesheet based on the Skeleton but with frames of 128x128 pixels each. It is also dyable.

I used the Bone Wings made by14K, you can see the topic where these are posted here:

I used the Horns made by skipy, you can see the topic where these are posted here:

It is currently not finished and I am waiting for any feedback. When the graphics will be done, I will make the xml myself since it is very easy. All help is appreciated.

This was super quick to do as a layer 3 shades and 50% transparency
I found the bone color more appealing

&salmondine: Thanks a lot for your help! I'm currently fixing the wings to make them look be attached to the skeleton and not floating in the air. I will add your green wings idea at the same time. This work might take some time. I am also planning to make the wings dyable.

I will put 8 different versions of the monster when I will be done and I will need some thoughts about each.

That looks great. But how about instead of using the normal player attack animations, you make it attack with its wings? The attack animation of Zerg Kerrigan from Starcraft comes to mind.

I already thought of that. I am not skilled enough to do such an animation but if anyone wants to give me rough frames for each front, back, left and right frames, then I will be able to do the entire spritesheet.


EDIT: Here is my version of the green wings. I made them less "old", a bit cleaner.

It looks a little strange to have the wings spread in the death frames. Not sure what's involved to make it so, but collapsing them closer to the body in those frames, or maybe hiding the bottom one completely, would look a little better IMO.

I worked on the death frames and on several weird pixels on all the spriteshet. In my opinion, the first two lines are finished.

@Crush: I would like to finish the spritesheet as it is now so that we can make an equipment that could transform us into a Scarewing, just like the Dark Talisman. Of course I intend to use this as a mob too. Question: Is it possible to use the horns and the green part of the wings on separate spritesheets to make the mob more flexible? Moreover, we will be able to recolor the horns, the body and the wings.

death frames: wing needs to drop to the side and relax against the body.
Current character is "Abolish".

Is that good enough? The wing is curled up on itself and we can see the 2 first branches behind the green parts.

I also need to find a way to dye the wings! The green can't dye currently. Imho, if we use a golden boned Scarewing (#fdd017), we won't need to dye the wings since they look good enough on it.

The whole spritesheet and the xml file are finished. I'm just waiting for comments about the death frame before posting my work and mark it FND.

Ali-G, the death frame might look better if you completely cover the body with the wings, like this:

Yeah, but the green part of the wing will simply not be transparent enough... I honestly prefer my current death frame.

Finished imho. I would prefer if it could move as fast as the Skeleton we currently have in game. If you want that monster to be golden, then just add in monsters.xml: |#:fdd017

It's a good looking mob Ali, very nice indeed. :)
May i suggest these names... Death Angel or Dark Angel, something along those lines.

No for these names since they are very likely to be used in other games. Scarewing isn't very attractive but there is a very low percentage of chances that it isn't use anywhere else. I would like that we stick with the name I made.
