I think the king and the queen look too similar. Maybe add some spikes to the edge of the upper part of the queen? Also, the cross on the kings head needs to be larger when it is supposed to be visible on the scale it will be pixeled on.

I had a quick try at doing the first frame of a Pawn Hat, does it look awkward?
Of course, every hat will be done in both colours (if we do decide to use this).

Not a bad idea, I like that, even though I'm not so sure about its perspective.

I think it looks flimsy and not really like a strong opponent. But I can't put my finger on what exactly is wrong with it.

I had another play around with the pawn hat thing, is this a better perspective?
Any ideas on what to do to this? maybe add another bit to the bottom, like an actual hat on which the pawn sits on, rather than wearing the gigantic pawn itself?

@Dude, maybe for the king, to make it more menacing, maybe another player head taller? and a little more fatter, you don't have to actually draw the king for what it is, maybe add more bits to it, but idk if this would ruin the whole concept. I had in my mind, that is had little feet (maybe legs as well) and arms, maybe holding a sword/axe etc. You could also not make the pieces so clean, like add cracks and chipped areas and also maybe dirty.

Just my thoughts :)

Thanks,

I think the cross on the king should be much bigger, make it stand out more right now the cross on its top looks like a queens ball. in a chess game the kings cross on the top is bigger then the top itself, or the same size in length.

That would be appropriate for a TMW-themded chess set, but not for a chess-themed TMW monster set.
