I posted this on trello but nobody reviewed this, therefore, I'm posting it in here so more people can help me...

Indeed, you need more practice at shading.

Especially the back view makes it apparent to me that you don't yet understand shading as a tool to make art appear three-dimensional but rather as a liability. I think Mark's pixel art tutorial illustrates quite well how to use shading on characters:

I am sorry for being a bit direct. I just want to help you get better.


Regarding the texture: I made the experience that a simple dark checkboard dithering works pretty well for chainmail. You can also apply shading to the dithering, but this is usually not that necessary.

great job so far, to bad you cant wear it by itself without the bottom of the bum cheeks showing x]

I like this dressing! Liza, can i give you some of my many cave snake lamps and tongues to get a snake skin dress of fashionable cave snakes?
