[WIP] Fine Dress

Post by Chicka-Maria »

Id really like to see this in game and Platyna said it was fine as long as Platyna red wasn't used, I decided to keep the white bits because I think it looks nice with every color. Skipy helped me make it dyeable and worked on some of the male sheet (so they don't have boobs when they wear it) but the male sheet still needs a little work with some views.
Right now im writing a quest for it so anybody who wants to help out with the male sheet in the meantime feel free.

Regards,

Personally, I say use the gender-specific tag, and let the whiners visit Eurni.

hehe i think it would be interesting to see the males in a dress to (without the boobs) after all it is fantasy! the male sprite is about 80% done all it needs is a flat front view so it doesnt look like they have bumps on the chest when they stand or walk. The side views are done I think, skipy made the chest flat for the most part.

What is this? The idea of males having a dress is very off-putting and disturbing.

Better not look too closely at the people around you in the world then. It happens more than you think, all over the globe.
The only stupid question is the one you don't ask.

You have the right to be disturbed, just like males have the right to wear dresses. Don't like it? Don't play.

Political correctness and gender mainstreaming says that all TMW items must be unisex. Every attempt so far to create an item which was only usable by one gender, or even looked notably differently on each gender (like the tank top - come on, which self-respecting man would ever wear navel-free? It looks just stupid!) was met with rage from certain people from the player base.

I think - If a man realy want to wear this dress it is his problem, but it not should be the problem for the item.
Many items in the game are not for realy use but for "good looking" - Nobody have to put on this dress if it is only +2 defense and -2 m. attck cause everyone should have an cotton shirt ;)

Better is in my opinion to make an alternative item for male f.e. (i don't know the right word) suit with the same +2 defense and -2 m. attck.
Male char put dress in storage or sell it and femal suit - why not?

I agree; maybe most of guys will never wear miniskirt, but the fact that they can if they want to is a great thing :) Let's not make precedences. The fact that this game makes all things equal, is something we can be proud of :)

Gender shaming should be frowned upon in a gaming community, not endorsed.

Personally, I don't see the problem with men wearing dresses if they wish to. I personally wouldn't (in person, in game it's all about the lolz, heh), but whether some like it or don't, there's no reason someone should be told "no, you cannot wear this, because you're a male and some people/groups think that's strange."

As for cross dressers being creepy, that is only one opinion, of many. I highly doubt most people would call a woman out on the streets for wearing particularly manly clothing, or call them creepy, and even if they did, who cares? The point I'm trying to make, is that people are and should be free to do as they wish, whether some disagree with that or not, provided they aren't harming anybody.

I rather liked Kull's point, nobody should be made to feel ashamed for how they choose to dress, especially in an online game. I'm rather sure many male players who wear short skirts wouldn't in real life, but they do in games for fun, or because they'd feel too ashamed to in real life. And if they do wear those in public, well, all the more power to them, I say. :)
