But the hay is what I like least about the whole picture... the stones are great with the bits of moss 'n all. But the hay roof just looks odd to me. And ofcourse the whole style doesn't fit in with TMW's current style.

Personally I think the hay looks like a really bad haircut.There's also to much white, to bright, in the hay.It looks like the pictures of supermodel faces.Airbrushed, retouched or whatever they call it.
Although it's not really on topic the issue you have with the perspective is, I think, with the walls of the house.The cliff and the trees match but not the house.At least to me.

Instead of centering on the "bad" things we should look at the good things I actually like it, the only wrong is the perspective.
The whole tileset has its issues: is too bright, bad perspective, the borders of the hay look no good and the grass lacks presence. But somehow is better constructed and has more presence thatn of the current maps...
