Tulmishar Mountain Tileset RFC

Post by wushin »

Here is the start of a tileset to better work with the desert to mountain in Tonori it has a better regional feel. I rescued and put proper shadows on the ropes. and reused the texture from the old tile cause that was dope. Still in progress. as I need mountain to desert & mountain to water transistion tiles yet.

From the work I have done on the sorry-cant-talk-about-it-yet quest, I can conclusively say:

Do NOT give put any tile on top of the standard solid background. Instead, use a transparent background, and put it on the ground2 layer (not fringe). Also, use oversized tiles (which must be on another image), don't rely on stitching by hand.

Basically, yeah. Of course, you haven't done the "split oversized objects into separate tilesets" yet, but that's probably a good thing to do at the very end.

Though maybe the top-of-cliff ones should be ... what if the tileset at the base of the cliff is different?

Also, some of those *may* already be available separately ... possibly not though, I've only seen them combined.

I'm not qualified to speak of the quality of the tileset itself.

Yeah, I'm leaving most everything together as it makes it easier to make everything consistent in one file, then apply changes to several. I also have to say, I'd prefer more of the tilesets to be transparent background instead of stacked in sets. I just stacked everything because that was the most consistent standard among tilesets.
