Recently i made some reorganisations at the file structure of the client that forced me to look through all the inventory icons. After digging through all of them i asked myself: "why don't we bring some more of these items into the game? it would add so much to it." Especially the headgears aren't that much work. the inventory icons need only some slight modifications to make them useable as equipment sprites. there are only 5 animation phases necessary (up, down, left, right, dead). the animation system will do the rest. and the sourcecode changes to enable headgears wouldn't be that complicated either. we already proved that it works with the chest armors.
i made the spriteset for one of the two headbands. it was a work of some minutes. I opened one of the hairset spritesheets, pasted the inventory sprite of the headbands on a new layer and made some modifications to fit it on all of the 5 (used) phased of the first color variant:
anyone up to the challenge to create sprites for the other headgears?

If it truly is that easy, then I would very gladly be willing to work on some of the headgear pieces! ...Right as soon as this map gets finished.

Yep headgears should be really easy to create and mantain, so I'd go for them instead of adding other equipments.

made the fancy hat. although not based on the inventory icon. it is just too small. so i made it based on the hat of an npc:
i'm too lazy to make screenshots. but believe me: it looks allright.

The lamp is from the inventory sprite, but the rest is original.
a byproduct of the development was this "plain helm":
this sprite is a little bit boring, but maybe someone wants to use this as a template for some more interesting helm designs.

When this one is accepted we got all the sprites we need for the current headgears. When someone feels like creating some new headgears feel free to be creative. Thanks to the more flexible animation system and inventory icon system it won't be a problem to get it into the next version.

it could increase the attacking range when attacking with a bow
