Next, will be Tritans. :alt-0:
:o Those horns should be a hat!
I believe Wushin said it is. But i guess it only available as "hat" for future Gaspian race chars. :?

I think that can be fixed if these horns sprite are placed above any helmets. With bull helmet it will look like quad-horns. That, of course, if these horns are functioning as "hairs" instead of "hat". 8)

Hmm, the beginning part of the hair looks offside. When it facing forward, it looks like grow from the back of the head, but when facing side, it looks grow from the front. But that can easily be fixed. :D (Looks like Alex deleted his post. Why?)

the "headstyles" are actually just hairstyles but we include the whole head in the hairstyle so that we can have different eyes/nose

Well we can use the "replace" function in head/hairstyles so they don't do that. Example: Bull Helm

As i said to Wushin in game few days ago, i post the other race's heads this weekend. So this is it, with some suggestions from me.

1. Gaspian Male

2. Gaspian Female
I'm suggesting the Gaspian have their own female head style if you not planing these horns to be a special hat for the race. Gaspians have no hairs on their heads.

Continue from the above post (i can't post more than 3 attachment).

3. Trintans Male
I suggest Tritans use these fins (as hat) to distinct them with the human, as they are too have hairs like mermaid/merman.

4. Trintans Female/Full Fins
But if you decided not to make fins as a hat, these full fins might useful.

5. Tritans Turtle
Or you can use this.

6. Undeads
As for this race, i suggest you use the available hairs in game. Undeads are so much like human but they just not alive, right? So (according to the rule of cool) pale skin and red eyes are enough to distinct them with the livings. No need to add sparkles skin like the particular undead (you know what i mean. :alt-0: ).

Actually there would no longer be hairstyles, it would be "head" styles (for lack of a better name) but we still need different styles.

for human we have different kind of hairs
for tritan we have different kind of fins (but still not enough)
for gispaan we need different kind of horns too

And they will not be gender-locked just like you can put female clothes and hairstyle on male chars. You'd be able to switch your head/hair style (we'll figure out a better name later) at the barber just like before except for tritan it would be fins and for gispaan it would be horns

we plan to have those races:

Ether - Talponian (aka "human")
Water - Tritan
Fire - Ifriton
Wind - Sparron
Earth - Gispaan

--------------------------------------
@wushin shouldn't the Ifriton be the one with the horns (kind of like a fire demon) and the Gispaan be the one that looks undead or troll-ish?

Well, if the horned creature is Ifritons, then use the horns on them.

Anw, if you really want "heads" for each race, then i guess you need a huge collections of them to give player visual options for their chars more than just colors. And that might take a quite some time unless bunch of people working on it (spoiler: i thought you guys wanna release these new races early next year? :alt-9: ).

Aye, SDN. It will take a few people and a number of heads. I made some headstyles already but yeah, we need more.

After the races are finished we can discuss which is what and where they belong. The important part is the more that the styles of species are similar but different for now.

Also SDN, those heads look real nice.

Just a quick preview using the racesprite item colors for Gispaans (ifritons?), Sparrons and Tritans.
(may help as reference to fix current hairstyles and do new ones).
Image

From the Forgotten stuff, Modanung did a try with body variations like an example:
Image
Many devs also tryed but never finished, It's a lot of work to change the whole body, but change the heads seems a good start. Reading the backstory about the races, it surely will be interesting when these races be present...
I don´t want more spoilers, so... keep up the good work with this!

We are thinking either a Goblin/Orc/Troll kinda look or Undead of some sort.

The base sprite can be dyed. One can change it's color easily. An easier method to change the body would be to add accents to the base player model. As it has dye channels. One could then make accent layers to add hair/fins to the body, like we are doing heads. *hopes this makes sense*
