Which version do you want to be used? I can give a try at shading it today.EJlol wrote:

Re: [WIP] Harbour Props
Last picture I posted. However it should be flipped (again), as Artis has his ships in the east, and not west. Also it's missing the 'main' rope. The rope that has the pulley, and goes up and down. Right now I'm at work, but I can post the lineart later tonight without a background.
Re: [WIP] Harbour Props
Also I came to the conclusion the crane is not good for loading ships, but I will tell you later, need to work now.
Re: [WIP] Harbour Props
Seems like I cannot login at the moment at home.
Anyway, the crane is only good for vertical movement, and not horizontal movement. This means it can be used for building things (like towers) as they only need to get materials up and down. A crane in the harbour also needs horizontal movement as the ship is at a other place than the materials. Unlike the building materials (stone blocks) most materials will also not be too heavy (except cannons?). Which is why a crane like this is better I think:

Re: [WIP] Harbour Props
Both will be useful, I started to work on your last work, if you don't mind, a lineart for that one would be welcome as well.

Yes I know, the wood color is bad... And the shading isn't done, but it still looks nice!

Re: [WIP] Harbour Props
Right now it is very straight, and it looks like it cannot rotate. I will update it later with a version that can rotate.

I cleaned and finished the shading of the first harbour tileset, I'm waiting for more linearts to work on.

On a totally unrelated sidenote: My gf has arrived this weekend, and she will stay for 2 months

Re: [WIP] Harbour Props
Something like that?
Re: [WIP] Harbour Props
Animations should be really easy to do on both of these. I'm thinking about up/down for the first one, and rotation for the second one. As for the leather strings with the iron hooks, they should be childish to animate. Maybe I can give you a hand on this.
Re: [WIP] Harbour Props
I will do the animation on the shaded version with a box, but then, we will need a little boat...

Re: [WIP] Harbour Props
Which direction do you want the boat to point to? north, east, south, west?
I think either north/south will work best though.
Also the crane is designed to be animated / rotated, which is why it doesn't really fit inside the tiles and had to add one tile extra around it that contains just a few pixels
The sketch, measuring the size of the beam:
I might have screwed up the rope / diagonal beam though, as I didnt calculate them, but just guessed the position
