[WIP] Big Croc

Post by Reid »

Yet unnamed, here's the larger version of the croc:

And Ejlol's version, I would like to make it an other sprite with this model based on the spriteshit that I will try to sort out for the "big croc"

Maybe Ejlol's version could be made into an even bigger croc boss. I've been thinking about having very big boss mobs for the end of questlines or just randomly spawned around the world. I'm talking more than 10x bigger than the big croc.

I don't think you realize how much work that big croc already is, and it's not animated yet. Pixel art is so time consuming, time that we don't have.

They could be non-walking mobs, much like the Belial boss fight in Diablo III (Google a video to get the idea). That would take much less time to make and it would still look pretty cool.

You won't have any frames left to make it walk if you make it that big, anyway =p

A bigger croc? That's all doable, but it will be better to just use default frames (attack, stand, spawn, death), no directions, no walk.

Agreed! Imagine how cool it would be to fight giant mobs. There should be more of them!

Some prototype's I also made:

They are supposed to be Big crocs that have eaten a lot of that purple mushroom stuff or something like that.

I would love to see bigger boss monsters. But sadly they take a huge amount of time and effort to draw. And there are many more things I want to draw and/or do. But if you have the time, feel free to give it a try. A big croc boss monster does sound cool. :)

Large boss/monsters are easily doable if we reduce the number of frames, doing them being static (can't move) is an easy way to do them.
But that's right, doing a real big monster with all of the needed frames/animations requires a lot of time. :)

My idea for boss monsters has always been for them to be static, see Diablo bosses for a good example.
