[FND] Brimmed hat

Post by Reid »

I was bored to do maps so I worked on a little hat which could bring some good quest on Artis.

I explain myself, this hat will be easily purchasable on the city market, but the player will be able to personalize it with some items, like, a piou's feather, some flowers, etc...
I've done a little mock-up for these two last example, I will post it later once I have some XML finished.

Nice. I like the idea of customizable items.

Do you think that the feather without the hat would be an useful hat?

It's not very clear they are flowers in my opinion. I like the feather hat very much :)

I'm not much happy with the flowers... Any idea of how to change it?

If I had I would have told you :P

Maybe make the petals of each flower larger and more clear? I'm just saying things now, I really do not know how to improve it. Its just that it feels like the shape of the flowers itself is not very clear, and the colors make it merge into the hat.

Last point might be the key, colors are too close for that our eyes can distinguish them.

Colors? Yes, they can be a problem. You're using green and yellow. Yelloow is green+red and green is yellow+cyan.
In other words: They will merge neatly on the hat.

Try using darker tones of purple maybe like this on some flowers. red roses and blue tulips will also contrast with the green hat making it more evident.

Now, you could also use flowers instead of their petals. The yellow center will contrast with the colore petals around it.

Well, those are my suggestions. I may be wrong, anyway. :'(

You're right, I will try this change later this weekend!
