the arc is supposed to be in background, but the joint with horizontal columns brings it into foreground in "nonsensical" way (some kind of esherthing :D) imho

This looks great.
The change from light to dark on the arches makes them look like they are scooped back into the ceiling of the building instead of arching up. Perhaps you meant to do this, but it looks a little funky to me.
Can't wait to see this in game.

MUCH better now! A suggestion I have though: The arch starts from the center of the column, but it would look far better if you had it start from the EDGE of the column. Other than that, it is definitely shaping up! Take Crush's advice and shade the lighted columns better too.

I think i screwed up the whole thing...but here you have, hit me !

Image

if this is wrong (wich im pretty sure it is) i have issues :)

1. Arch joint shadow when connect with horizontal column corrected
2. Columns ligths and shadows inverted (here is the screwed up)
3. minor touches to the torches
4. Central Ach touching the border not the center of the coloumn head
5. more ligthed in general (to avoid the char lighting and shadows problem)

it feels like the colums that are on the wall seem to be further forward than the colums that do not have wall behind them. you should be able to fix this by making less than half of the colum visible against the wall. just my two cents.

Hmm, I think this was the best version so far (where I prefer the column to the left):

You had such a cool lighting going on around those torches.

as you wish...

Image

1. remove two torches
2. replace wall columns by the version ligthed
3. retouch the arch column with some light effect
4. level the columns (again)
5. remove the light reflection from wall and masonry (from where i remove the torches)

Done is un-screwed up, haha !

Much better. That mockup makes me wonder: What monsters would fit into the dungeon? Mummies? Or would that be too cliché?
