I was bored and looking at the sprite work for TMW and decided to try a couple of edits on the equipment sprites please forgive my terrible work here it is.

First you needn't apollogize. All content of TMW is open content and all artists are aware of that. So they needn't be surprised when they are edited.
You obviously aren't happy with your work. So i think that the reason you are posting them is that you want some constructive criticism.
The first thing I noticed is that you are using a lot of "pure" colors like pure white, pure black or pure yellow. This is generally a bad idea. When you pick colors you should never use colors with a very high or low volume or a very high saturation. When you use the color picker of your image manipulation program no slider should ever be at the leftmost or rightmost position.
Then i noticed that you removed some detail from the pants icons. Your motivation of doing so isn't clear to me. What did you want to archieve? When you tell me I can maybe show you a better way of doing so.
Another thing that was especially aparrent in the boots was your usage of exact horizontal and vertical lines. The famous artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser once said "The straight line is godless". Straight lines should generally be avoided whenever possible as they look very amateurish.
