Source of item graphics

Post by Jetryl »

I'm not actually working on this game, nor will I be.
But I happened to stumble across the following set of Public domain graphics. These were originally intended as a user-made set of graphics files for a rogue-like game:

http://rltiles.sourceforge.net/

Though few of the units, tiles, or otherwise would be useful to you, a number of the following items may - if not for on-tile "lying on the ground" images, then for interface pictures of the items:

http://rltiles.sourceforge.net/dc-item.html

As I said, these are public domain, so there are no worries about copyright. Also, because these never shipped with a game, using them would not be "unoriginal". These were a fan creation for another game, and were not part of an official product.

I don't think the tiles will be much use, but some of those item pictures look like they could fit TMW I think.

But remember were trying to keep the same gfx style :l
it would look wierd if character was 2d and items looked somewhat 3d or very... bright and illuminated.

But they are very nice indeed

Um...those item sprites aren't 3D in the least. They're just shaded well. Not saying we should necessarily use them, but we should definately go for the best possible shading in what we do use.
