Off-Topic:

Post score -

Bankai - 34
Everyone Else - 30

On-Topic:

All of it is not completely transperant.
The back of the helmet has like a splotch on it?

The back of gimp is checkered if it's transperant and I do all my art in paint even my sig. Paint is more useful than you'd think.

Keep on working on it. Read tutorials. A lot of tutorials.

(From different tutorials you get different hints/perspectives on issues and it is always very good to have multiple sources of information when learning something.)

You may want to take an art course first, as you can't seem to understand the tutorials. Can you shade a sphere? You can't expect to get good result at drawing without even understanding the basics, just like you can't expect a grade schooler do chemistry.

Like Crush said, where is the sphere you made?

In your own interest as a pixel artist, do a few different spheres.

64x64 pixels should be easy enough of a target to begin with. Let's say three with different light directions should do?

Making one shouldn't take more than 3 minutes.

Once you're on a high enough level, yes.

It's up to talent and concentration how fast you can actually progress.
