Well, a lot of Items need to be added and replaced. Since I'm waiting on Len for the NPC development, I decided to start on this.

Here is a replacement for the current knife sprite:

Looks plain, small, and puny...

...exactly the look a beginners weapon should have.

It's nothing great. Just a late night doodle. The handle is too dark in my opinion. I'm just working on metal glare.

The icon specification gives you more pixels than you are currently using.

Your outcomes do not hold any defense for these decisions of yours.

Here is my replacement (which I drawed a week ago when I was bored):

Not really my best art though.

EJlol: your icon makes it look better than the sharp knife, which it isn't.

Both the icons by kr0n05931 and by EJlol are usable weapon icons, were I would prefer the one by kr0n05931 for the beginners knive while EJlols could be used for some other knive - crappy = good for a newbie weapon.

The one by Angeliex has the problem that it is so dark that it is hard to tell the difference between the blade and the handle.

Regarding Rotonens objections that they are not using the full 32x32 pixels: I think it isn't necessary to do so. When you see all weapon icons in comparison, in a shop screen or in the inventory, for example, it would be good when low level weapons would be smaller and less fancy than high level weapons so that you can tell which weapons are strong and which are weak.

It'd still make things look better in general if you'd exaggerate the blades of weapons a bit in the icons.

An icon is a representation of the weapon, not a direct picture: take the most dominant characteristic of the weapon in question and blow it up a bit for the weapon icon in question.

Didn't you forget about something? There is such thing like perspective. Did you ever heard about that :) If you want make it look like pile, it have to be in conical shape.

Item icons should also not be "cut off" by the boundaries of the 32x32 canvas. Although it looks good in the inventory it looks very strange when the item is laying on the ground.

This is how I would make a pile of powder like ash:

Fate asked for a piece of leather.

Note: Leather looks strange on the forums due to the background.

The iconic pelt shape might make it look better and more easily recognizable. It's not fabric, it's the skin of a dead animal.
