Hello everyone,

we are currently looking for a craftsman NPC sprite. If you happen feel like drawing one, your help with this would be greatly appreciated! :-)

Can you maybe describe a bit more detailed how this NPC should look?

Crush,

good idea. Note that the following are just suggestions, though: if you have a better idea of what a craftsman should look like, please don't hesitate to try your own approach! :-)
  • Whatever the craftsman is wearing should be comfortable for work. A protective leather apron might be good. Leather gloves might also help, either worn or tucked away in a belt or pocket.
  • The craftsman might have a tool belt (not quite as expansive as modern-day ones, of course) or hold some appropriate tools, such as a hammer, pliers, or perhaps a saw or mechanical drill.
  • Sturdy boots.
As with most other NPC sprites, the craftsman should be standing, facing the player, and look somewhat related to the normal player sprites (though sufficiently visually distinguishable.)

And if you can add a separate workbench to be included on a map, then that would be magnificent (though not required). :-) (There already is a workbench that can be used.)

I started this sprite. I took the farmer and the miners hat sprite, changed some details and put all together. But I'm not sure if a construction worker is that what you wanted. Check it out:

Spit23,

I like the general idea, except for the helmet. While I was originally thinking of the craftsman as having a long leather apron, the design you picked here should work fine, too.

He could use a tool or two, though.

Thank you! :-)

We could always use construction NPCs (like in Dimond's Cove basement or the new Tulimshar).

A sweat band would be appropriate for him.

As for the "construction NPC", why not make him the new miner? Just give him a mining tool and we have a miner with the correct template :)

For the miner, we'll want some more appropriate clothing.

I imagine the craftsman to look more like this http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/2553 ... eptuj5.png

Yosuhara,

This one looks perfect! :-D

(Well, modulo leg proportions, and modulo the fact that it's not a sprite, but the idea is excellent).

Thank you,
