I have also attempted the trunk for the tall tree:
and with tileable trunk:
Would that look too artificial?

Too sharp compared to the foliage, or at least it is compared to the other trunks in the set

I used the colourmap of the other tree in the tileset and I got this:
Somehow, the trunk doesn't blend well with the leaves.

I like the grass with a higher dynamic range (1) better. I don't think that it clutches with the new tree.
But I might be biased here because I was the one who created it.

I am going on a vacation for a month, so I may not able to post on the forum unless I find some means to go online during my vacation.
Either grass looks fine to me.
Apparently, my flight got delayed due to the snow storm, so I am drawing up another version of the trunk:
Does the contrast of the trunk looks fine now, or should it have more contrast? The trunk should be tileable with minor touch up. If it looks fine, I will have the rest of the tree completed, maybe we can have alternative trunk so that it will not look repetitive, but I personally think the repetition so far looks neat.

Lets just focus on getting this done and released first
Well just in case... I've been playing around with Saphy's pallet to try and take a whack at the log monster.

Nice idea, but it doesn't look strong enough to support treetop.

Hi, long time no see. My vacation is almost over, so here I am revising the tall tree. How about something like this?

Here's an update on as far as I got on a possible updated log monster for this set [been working on other things]. I'll split this into a different post in the future.. just giving an update.

It seems a little too blurry

It's likely an optical illusion with all of the white surrounding the little green square. I do have the roots using anti-aliasing to help blend to the ground... but just in case, here it is on a white background. None the less, i should hold off on this until I finish my other pending stuff, and split this into a new topic. (if it still looks blurry against white, let me know and I'll split a new topic early, since I'll feel compelled to fix it out of my own personal pickiness
)
