In the comic Asterix and the Normans (by Uderzo & Goscinny), parsley is used as earplugs, to avoid the torment of hearing the bard sing. That's how I got the idea of parsley as earplugs. How I got the idea of earplugs in the first place, I'll leave to your imagination.

geeze that is parsley, learn your herbs bud.
I vote for piggy ear plugs pig head on one ear, pig rear in the the other ear. Yes I have actually seen these available to purchase. Funny stuff.
