He uses his right hand in both angles.

It does seem common to flip the sprite for left / right side attacks, so he will likely change handedness.

I'll have the back view up soon.

I'll post what I've got.

It still needs some tweaking (besides coloring).

Thoughts?

I didn't say that he uses different hands, instead what I said was that he uses a different type of slash. (from left to right vs. from right to left)
It's not just a matter of asymetry, but this is a completely different style/movement, if you slash with your right hand from right to left you rely on your "pull" for momentum (pulling your arm towards your torso) If however you slash with your right hand from left to right you rely more on your "push" (pushing your arm away from your torso). Again I don't want to split hairs, and it doesn't bother me, just thought to point that out to let you know.

I may be tunnel blind on this one.

When I look at the front view and the side I see him raise the sword on his right side and slashing across his body to the lower left.

I don't see the difference.

(BTW, I'm not arguing-I want to see what I'm missing here. Carry on :)

Here is the back view.

I have to run. It probably needs a little reworking.

Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions?

IMO the animation needs definetely more frames to look more natural and not that abrubt.

I looked at them frame by frame, and saw that I was mistaken, I thought that while holding the sword back, the character was facing away and had his arm around his neck, but instead he is facing towards you and simply holds back. Watching frame by frame it's clear, sorry for the confusion ^_^

The very rapid move from the last frame back to the default stance bothers me a bit in all animations. To solve it I would suggest to either reduce the front step or add an additional frame.

I would also like to ask you to post a frameset in PNG format with all animation phases.

Intellingently motion blurring the actual weapons by hand should help.

To fix the movement of the feet?? I doubt that.

Well, if something catches your eye, you won't really pay attention to the rest as much?

Two extremes, find a compromise between them. I'm just bringing the cards to the table here.
