[WIP] mines-tileset

Next to the fact that there's some miners in the mines, there's few to none visual hints showing you that yuo are indeed in a mine. So I thought I'd try my hand at a mine-tileset. So far all I've got is a rail. But I plan on making:
* Supportbeams (I know they've been made in a thread already, but I'd like to see if I can do better)
* Mininglamps
* Hole in the floor with tripod above with descend rope
* Ore deposits ??? (they've been made also, but dunno what direction devs want the gameplay to go so that's for later)

But like I said, I started with a railroad:

Before I make junctions/crossings and so on, I'm somewhat insecure and look for feedback on:
- selected colors
- size/width
- wheter or not it's to "clean cut" compared to other tilesets.

It looks to small and the perspective is off.

It also needs some shading.

The size is better. The perspective is still wrong though.

i started on a tripod once:

i lost interest, but maybe you can start from it, or just use it as inspiration.

i also have some gimp files with many layers and drafts and stuff, let me know if you want me to share them

Ok, took me a while to fully understand which perspective was needed but I think I got it now (technically it's more like a parrallel projection rather then a "perspective" right?). Anyway, how's this?

(edit: the forumbackground is a bit to bright, not showing the perspective of the west-to-east tracks, looks better on a dark background)

The space between the beams of the vertical track needs to be smaller. Other than that I think the perspective is good now. The next thing that should be done is alot more contrast.

yeah, I forgot to adjust those lenghts. this does bring a problem though, I'll have to compromise. Either by betraying the 70% rule, and stacking the beams really really close toghether. Or by respect the percentage (more or less), but then the the tile will have one distance which is one pixel smaller. Since the tile will be repeated often this might stand out:

Are you sure it needs even more contrast? I felt like it was already over the top....

Btw you do mean contrast in different colors? or do you mean shading?

And tomminator thx for the posts, I hope to reuse as much of your work and effort as possible :)

It doesn't need more contrast between beams and rails but more contrast between the colors in the objects themself.

Some more shading is also required.

Oh, you mean like this?

Is this ok then, or not enough/to much?

Getting better, though the blue makes it harder to see.
