Direction of the light source

Something that's been catching my eye is the lack of consistency in the direction of light.

Small things like cherry cake, etc. have a diffuse light source, so that's OK.

However, the oranges have light coming from slightly north west, whereas the apples have their light source from the east.

The slimes are a particular problem. I understand that it is easier to have them animated moving one direction, then flipping the animation for movement the other way. But this produces very bizarre light angles.

If a direction for a light source has not been agreed on, this might be a good time to establish that.

We already agreed on a general light direction a long time ago: Light comes from south west up.

The slimes are from when we were still using 16x16 tiles and we didn't really have any guidelines at all.

If you're annoyed by things like that, you're welcome to join the club and try to fix them.

Ahh. Thanks for pointing that out. I don't have as long a history with the graphics of this game as others do.

A question about light angles != being annoyed. I was inquiring as to whether a standard had been set. Crush says yes, and yet the new acorns show the light source as from the bottom left (South West).
